There's a wide variety of stores in and around Malibu, from trendy boutiques to high-end department stores. Malibu Country Mart is an expansive outdoor shopping and entertainment complex. It's close to many of the area's beaches and has plenty of shops you won't find elsewhere. Malibu Lumber Yard was built to give locals of Malibu a convenient spot to shop, eat, and hang out with friends. Numerous tables, couches, and chairs provide lots of seating in this area, ideal for taking in the scenery or unwinding at the end of a busy day.

Malibu is home to several casual and fine dining establishments. Nobu Malibu is an institution that every Los Angeles resident should experience at least once. In search of a patio with a stunning panorama? Geoffrey's is the best place to watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean while dining on authentic Californian cuisine. Malibu Farm, a local favorite on Malibu Pier, serves farm-to-table cuisine and features some of the best views in Malibu. Other notable restaurants include Moonshadows Malibu, Broad Street Oyster Company, Malibu Seafood, Cholada Thai Beach Cuisine, Duke's Malibu, and Neptune's Net

Things to Do

If you drive beyond Surfrider and Will Rogers beaches, you'll find a pristine, spacious beach with good waves at Zuma Beach. Parking and lifeguards on duty are available at this popular Malibu spot. Point Dume State Beach can be found directly to the south and is a popular destination for hikers and climbers who like exploring the area's famous eponymous rock face and enjoying the seasonal wildflower fields atop its summit.

The Getty Villa's debut sparked considerable debate, most notably amongst artists. It is now one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. Getty utilized the villa to house his treasures. After some renovations, the Getty Villa was converted into a proper museum to house antiquities from the Mediterranean he had collected. Over 1200 artifacts are on display at this museum. 

Located in the Santa Monica Mountains, Solstice Canyon is a historical treasure. A two-mile hike of moderate difficulty might get you to the heart of the action, while a six-mile challenging hike will take you to all the best vantage points. The waterfalls of Solstice Canyon are famous for being a beautiful spot to get outside and take in the natural beauty.
