Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Third Street Promenade has been the city's primary shopping district for years. This lively outdoor retail mall features national clothing stores, homeware brands, and sporting goods. Santa Monica's Main Street district is home to many unique shops and cafes. It also features five-star hotels such as Casa Del Mar and Shutters on the Beach. Montana Avenue is home to upmarket retailers and well-known restaurants, such as the neighborhood favorite, Father's Office.

When it comes to food, Santa Monica does not disappoint. Mélisse has been a Santa Monica fixture for over 20 years. It is an authentic fine-dining establishment with a memorable menu you won’t find anywhere else. Tu Madre, a modest and colorful Westwood restaurant, has been serving homemade tacos and breakfast burritos since 2015. Vegans can enjoy it, too, thanks to the availability of plant-based tacos, burritos, and bowls. Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery serves the best sandwiches in Santa Monica, and FIG is the go-to for locals in search of fresh, seasonal Mediterranean fare. Hillstone, Ivy at the Shore, R+D Kitchen, Urth Caffe, Huckleberry Cafe, and Bru's Wiffle are some of the other excellent dining options in the city.

Palisades Park is a must-see if you're seeking a fantastic California destination. Visit this park on the bluffs of Santa Monica's northern coast to take in panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Mountains.
